That's part of the reason I created a new character. He's going to be a Hydro Necro who works off Cold Damage and Hexes.

I think it'll work out nicely. And that being the case, I'll probably have a need for a regular weapon that's on par with the Fleshcleaver, eventually.

But on a whole in this Green situation, I think some people dont see the big picture. I mean, look at how many people have complained about the greens in this thread. Take this number and ratio it out over all the GW forums over the world. That's a very minimum of how many people still want their golds.

Golds arent dead, you just cant scam newbs with Gold anymore.

i gotta say, i think these green items really messed some things up. If you think about it, pretty soon after hours of thousands of people playing furnace and farming and what not there will be a ton of green items, since theres only a couple of each type and the stats dont differ (that is to say no two yakslappers are different). So now we have a huge amount of ''perfect" weapons going for cheap, and gold items extremely abundent from chests and not worth more than green items anyway, things will be extremly cheap. Now guys who paid 100k+ find they could have bought the same/better items for as low as 10k. It seems like the only items thatll sell high after greens are no longer hard to come by will be items that dont drop in green form and appeal like crystallines/fellblades. But ive already seen prices getting very low, items normally selling for 20-30k selling for less than 5k and it is only to get worse...

alright everyone needs to stop whining.
perfect golds are still MUCH better then greens for many reasons 1 is that u can attatch new mods to it 2 its just wrth way more becouse or rarity so u can know that ur weapon is tight.
also the green weapons were made so even extremly poor players can play the game with a really good weapon but know it isnt the best or close to the rarest. this way the poor players can match everyone else in pvp.

Default Yes, economy changed. So what?

Well
I don't care much about the change.
I have the items I need, and I like the game for the game itself and the PvP

You ppl want to get FoW armor? go and do UW/FoW as much as you can.
You ppl like nice green items? go kill bosses at War Camp.

The only ones that got hurt from this are the new players that might want get some money - they can get decent amount. But why any 1 would like money in this game? get Runes? FoW armor?
Just opening chests will give you runes (open 10 you get 1-2 sup runes)
FoW? I said my opinion before.

So, go our and enjoy this game

RRR i totally agree with the first one, i found a 15>50 falchion in UW, before the patch, and now those freaking green items come around....the whole market sucks.
U are all too cheap, with your 1k in store, there should be green weapons, but or shouldnt drop so much, or worse mods, or .... at least something, now hadrly NO GOLD WEAPON is as good as a green one, and those cheap players can have good weapons too. What should a 300 ecto owner buy?? he can get all green weapons for 10 ectos, FoW armor is what they already have.... REALLY THOSE GREEN ITEMS HAVE TO BE NERFED

That just about sums it up. The haves don't like it because they still want more - and they also seem to think the have not's don't "deserve" decent weapons.

... and the meek shall inherit the earth

The green weapons r just like collectors items... ppl could get 15>50 bows, swords, and axes, even 20/20 recharges for 2k each, there was also a +45/2 enchant shield going crazy @ LA dis1 for 2k each way b4 the update... greens simply look better dues to their...errr...green names. get over it, green items r just a break for noobs who cant afford 15>50 scickles and dont like the "blue" name look in their inventories.

Oh man, i just don't believe the whiners have yet found another nerfwish. Will it ever end? Probably not.
The green items never screwed the economy, it were those that sold items at absurd prices that screwed the economy. Folks, seriously. Whomever thinks ANY item is worth more than 100 plat is trying to destroy the economy. And now those folks who are actively contributing to its destruction claim the green items are destroying what they have been destroying? How goddamn schizo is that?
The green items are a FIX. They are the ANTIDOTE. They are the REPAIR. Now all those whiners scream to destroy the fix, the antidote, the repair to what they have destroyed.
Are people only happy when something is going terribly wrong? Like for example jacking up prizes so awfully high you can't trade them properly due to tradesystem limitations? Get a grip on A.Nets reality and their intended Price Scale please. And realize you are off. FAAAAAAAAAAR off this scale.

Like saying:

|---A.Net Pricescale------------------------------------->
>------------------------------------------------------->
>------------------------------------------------------->
>------------------------------------------------------->
>------------------------------------------------------->
>------------------------------------------------------->
>-----------------------------------Your Pricescale------|

Think of that as one single line to demonstrate just how freaky the economy became with all the greed and inflation. Now all the green items did is cut down the Pricescale to a realistic level for those who won't sell their life to the game. And that is what A.Net should have done a long time ago as that is what their path started with.
Look at the collector items, just how much work and money do you need for them? A maximum of about 5 hours of farming. Now those Collector Items are simply superior to 98% of all gold items out there in the game. And finally go as far as to compare the prices of them:
Collector Item: 5 Plat
Gold Item with same stats: 500 plat

Yes, yes... nerf collector items... *bashing head against the wall from reading too much nerfwish stupidity*. Once again look at the difference of pricescale, and tell me again that the green items are ruining ANYTHING at all instead of fixing what is drop dead broken.

You do not have to use them if you don't like them. They are so other gamers get a shot at getting good items.
Well I think that most players would probably fall into that category, apart from the unemployed and lazy students.

In any case, Jade is completely correct about the way wealth and the best items have been distributed in the past. People who were able to farm well made all the money and felt smug about it. But now that there's a new way of getting good stuff (you do have to complete the game first), they're bitching about losing their privileged position.

Well, tough sh*t! As n0b of doom said, this is called "Guild Wars" not "Market Wars" or "Trade Wars". Also, I might add that I think the update was a result of the rich people inflating the prices of items by so much. Some people are saying they won't pay more than a few k for any green item, even though if you want a particular item, there's no certainty you'll get a drop in a single session of play. Now if there had been some kind of self-imposed price controls, where people never offered more than say 50k for anything, then most items would have been affordable with some hard work. But before the update, all the good stuff was so prohibitely expensive most people could only ever dream of getting it.

The update will ensure that prices on all items drop, not to nothing, but to more affordable levels. The extremely rare things will remain expensive, but others will become more affordable. And I don't see what's wrong with that.

If you have or know where to get a 15>50 sickle, tell me - I want one. I'll sell my left nut for it.

I'm unsure your left nut has any marketvalue, so please do not cut it off allready.
